Why Play Still Matters?

We believe in giving childhood back to our children.
While many schools have formalized the Reception year with uniforms, worksheets and early reading pressure, we remain committed to what research and experience tell us: young children learn best through purposeful play.
Our play-based learning is not random; it is carefully planned, designed with intent and scaffolded to achieve developmental milestones that build strong, adaptable, and resilient learners. We believe that technology has its place, yes, we introduce it thoughtfully but it is just as important to equip children with the ability to engage, imagine and problem-solve without a screen.
At Loreto Queenswood Pre-Primary, we proudly maintain a "No Smartphone" environment, preserving space for authentic learning, social connection and childhood wonder.
Here, Preschool learning is joyful, meaningful and rooted in real-world skills ... giving your child the confidence and foundation they’ll need to thrive in Big School, High School and beyond.
"Play will raise a child in ways you can never imagine!"
Real spaces. Real play. Real growth

Sports & movement at Loreto School Queenswood Pre-Primary
For us, sport is about more than competition. It’s about discovery, confidence and joy. That's why we are proud to offer seasonal sports and Learn-to-Swim lessons right here on our own school grounds, where children feel safe, supported and free to explore.
In Spring and Summer, our little learners are introduced to Mini Cricket, Mini Tennis and Learn-to-Swim in a nurturing, child-centered environment.
In Autumn and Winter, they experience the excitement of Mini Netball and Mini Soccer , giving every child a chance to move, play and find the sport they love most.
We offer a gentle introduction to seasonal sports because we understand that every child is on their own journey and the opportunity to explore different activities builds both skills and self-confidence. Our real facilities and real sports programs give your child the gift of early discovery, growth and a lifelong love for movement.
At Loreto School Queenswood, we don’t just teach sports, we celebrate every joyful moment on the field, in the pool and beyond.

Learn-to-Swim
Loreto School Queenswood offers Learn-to-Swim lessons to a limited number of learners during the first term. Where possible, we endeavour to schedule all learners for a session. We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment where your child can thrive in their swimming journey and develop invaluable skills that will last a lifetime.
Lego Robotics
Lego Robotics
At this grade, we introduce learners to LEGO Robotics, where creativity meets technology. As children experiment and build with different combinations of bricks, they develop problem-solving, spatial awareness and critical thinking skills. This hands-on approach also strengthens their memory, focus and attention span as they plan, design and construct a variety of innovative structures.
