In a world where division and busyness often take centre stage, the gift of community shines even brighter. Community is where joy is found - in laughter shared, kindness offered and togetherness celebrated. At Loreto School Queenswood, we believe that community is built on small acts of care, unity and celebration. In 2026, we are committed to nurturing the joy that comes from being part of a supportive school family, where each learner feels included and valued.
This year is especially significant as Loreto School Queenswood celebrates its 50th birthday. For half a century, our school has been a place where faith, learning and care have shaped young lives. Our golden jubilee gives us the chance to reflect with gratitude on our history, to honour the generations who have built this community and to look with hope towards the future. The celebrations throughout 2026 will be rooted in our theme, “Joy in Community” - as we rejoice in all that has been and all that is still to come.
Our Loreto family — educators, parents, and learners — will pledge to bring joy into our community through respect, gratitude, and celebration. Together, we will create spaces where every learner feels safe, seen, and uplifted. By embracing joy in simple moments — a smile, a helping hand, or a shared success — we will show that happiness grows stronger when it is shared.
During our daily examen, learners will pause to reflect on how they have contributed to the joy of others. This reflection will help them see how acts of kindness, encouragement, and inclusion make our school a brighter place. Over time, joy will become part of their identity — not just something they feel, but something they actively create in community.
In language lessons, learners will be encouraged to share stories of joy, explore characters who spread hope, and use words that uplift and inspire. In Religious Education and Life Orientation, the focus will turn to the joy of togetherness — exploring how belonging, peace, and service to others create bonds that strengthen communities. Through service projects, learners will have the chance to spread joy beyond the classroom, reminding them that even small contributions can bring light to others’ lives.
In math and science, learners will discover joy in the wonder of creation — patterns, problem-solving, and the beauty of the natural world. Projects on sustainability and environmental care will connect them to the joy of protecting the earth for generations to come.
Our fun community days, such as Pyjama Day, Wacky Socks Day, and Teddy Bear Picnics, are not just playful breaks — they are opportunities to build joy and unity. When we laugh together, celebrate creativity, and share in kindness, we strengthen our Loreto family spirit. These days remind us that joy belongs at the heart of learning.
Joy in community is about more than happiness — it is about belonging, compassion, and celebrating the gift of being together. As we journey through 2026 and celebrate our 50th birthday, we at Loreto School Queenswood are excited to live this value, helping our learners grow into people who bring joy wherever they go.
By choosing joy together, we believe we can make our school and the world beyond it a brighter place
